KNPRN Coffee Chat at ARNOVA 2025
Time: Friday, November 21, 1:10–2:00 PM
Topic: Career, Research, and Teaching
Venue: Luncheon Awards Venue
Hosted by: Mentorship Committee (Chair: Jihoon Jeong; Committee Members: Jungwook Kim, Suyoung Choi, Youjung Song, Eunsil Yoo)
1. Objectives and Implementation Plan
a. To create an informal setting in which members could gather in small groups and engage in natural conversation around shared interests related to career development, research, and teaching.
b. To ensure that doctoral students and first-time ARNOVA attendees were not left out, the Committee reviewed the conference program book in advance to identify prospective attendees and reached out to them prior to the event.
c. During the event, Committee members welcomed both existing members and new attendees, and actively encouraged their participation.
2. Summary of Activities
Immediately following the Luncheon Awards, the event was held as a standing social networking session at the rear of the venue. As the next session was scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM, this format offered KNPRN members a convenient opportunity to greet one another and connect within a limited timeframe, without the pressure of a seated program. Members of the Mentorship Committee welcomed new attendees, while existing members naturally facilitated conversation, resulting in organic small-group interactions throughout the session.
Additional Activity: Following the 2:00 PM session, the group relocated to the first-floor lobby of the conference hotel, providing doctoral students and junior faculty with an informal space for open conversation and networking.
