Dear KNPRN Members and Colleagues,
It is with great honor that I take on the role of Executive Director of the Korean Nonprofit & Philanthropy Researchers Network (KNPRN).
As both the founder and current director, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our leaders, advisors, and members who have generously contributed their time and expertise to our organization.
KNPRN stands as the first interdisciplinary association specifically for Korean scholars in the United States focusing on nonprofit and philanthropic studies. This encompasses a broad spectrum of areas including nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, civil society, accountability, entrepreneurship, management, leadership, volunteering, and various other related subjects.
Our origins trace back to the 2008 ARNOVA Annual Conference, where we began as a gathering of Korean American researchers in nonprofit and philanthropy. Our primary objectives are to offer guidance and support in nonprofit and philanthropic studies to Korean scholars and to contribute professionally to the Korean American community through academic resources and leadership.
The past years has been a period of significant achievements and developments for KNPRN. We have successfully established a leadership board and an academic advisory board, and have been officially recognized as a common interest group at ARNOVA.
Dedicated to our mission and values, KNPRN remains committed to supporting our members and the broader community of Korean onprofit scholars in their studies, career advancement, and research endeavors. We strive to foster a platform for sharing information and opportunities related to nonprofit and philanthropic research among our members.
I encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our activities and how we are dedicated to supporting your growth and development in nonprofit and philanthropic studies.
Warm regards,
Sung-Ju Kim,
Executive Director, KNPRN
